ZOOTAS Association
Unusual animals club, association, non-residential building or just a place,
Where you will drop your worries, open your terrarium and heart.
We founded our association so that we could pass on our knowledge of animals and nature not only to children, but also to adults. That animals that are often feared for their appearance are just as important as the cute ones and deserve our attention and respect. And that breeding is not just about breeding itself, but also about observing animals in their natural environment.
Ing. Anna Vedralová

My name is Anna Vedralová, you may know me as vedralan on social media.
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by animals from all over the world and their conservation. I grew up as the daughter of a paleontologist and naturalist who took me to pet fairs from a young age. Thanks to him, I came into contact with lizards and snakes at an early age – and that is when my passion for animal husbandry, especially arthropods, was born. In addition to terrestrial animals, I have always been attracted to the world of marine biology.
I graduated from high school with a degree in social work. It was there that I realized that I wanted to help people see the animal world the way I see it. Therefore, after consulting with teachers, I started giving lectures at schools, most often about spiders and reptiles. I focused mainly on species that people often overlook or fear, even though they are ecologically irreplaceable in nature.
Soon after, I began working in Stanice přírodovědců, where I started lecturing terrarium clubs and leading science camps. I worked here from 2013 to 2025.
During my engineering studies, I decided to take a different path – I understood that if nature does not function as the whole system, the the keeping in captivity will not make sense. That is why I continued to the Faculty of environmental protection, focusing on nature conservation and ecology.
Besides studying and raising animals, I have also had the opportunity to travel to exotic countries and observe animals in their natural habitat, both on land and in the sea. Besides observing animals, I am also interested in understanding the relationship of local people to the nature around them.
Today I am working on a documentary about nature and working in the media as a nature popularizer.
With the Zootas association, I organize lectures, workshops, and programs with live animals that show that even "unloved" creatures have their place in nature.
Bc. Michaela Králová

I have been breeding reptiles since I was 12 years old and in recent years I have also become interested in amphibians, especially frogs. In addition to breeding, I like to go abroad for so-called "herping", which is the search for reptiles or amphibians in the wild.
I spent my early days of keeping animals in Stanice přírodovědců in Prague, first as a child in a club, then as a breeder and also as a leader of a terrarist club. Since 2015 I have been a member of the Zamenis Association, which is dedicated to the protection of our tree snake. Thanks to this, I can actively participate in the protection of our nature.
I chose Botičská Gymnasium for secondary school, where the lectures focused on natural sciences. I then pursued my breeding focus at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, majoring in Special Breeding, completing my bachelor's degree.
I was led to establish our association by the vision of passing on experience and knowledge in the field of animals to children, not only about breeding, but also about their importance in nature, and why it is important to protect our native species.
In our club, I want to show children and adults that reptiles and amphibians are animals that definitely deserve our attention. I also give lectures in English.
